In My Eyes
my reflection knows no boundaries
the slave that i am, to the evil inside
i can feel it swarm around me like a leaf fallen on my shoulder
the evil that is everywhere, it lives inside of me
i can taste it on the tip of my tongue
i can hear its hum stinging my ears
i can smell it in my thoughts
this dirty water rises around me, to swallow me into the deep
by the footsteps of my life, do i give into that evil
the things i leave behind me as i go
everything my hand does find with even a gentle touch
leaves many broken pieces
i can see it all in my eyes
but i see something else inside me
its called love, if words could call it at all
Jesus covers that evil
sometimes its easier to submit to that evil
than fall into the arms of love
help me
that evil is covered with His love
but it tries to show its face and turn my head
my reflection knows no boundaries
i can see it all in my eyes
i want to open my eyes and know God’s love
before my eyes are closed forever
my eyes glimmer of light, darkness and the battle within
i am all and i am nothing
