Life: The Compilation
life is a compilation of realizations
knowledge acquired from jumps and falls
two steps back, the saying goes
you try so hard but stub your toes
stories of superlative days; unrivaled times
or the worst of occasions in matchless compare
legends be heard and narratives shared
a journey of lives if anyone cared
a sandwich of poison a joke for a living
a key to the wind to keep for my own
to be as free as the fish that got away
but the net it grasps, to my dismay
compilations and comprehensions what to grasp
such a collection of places we’ve sat or stood
places we’ve been and
aspects we’ve seen
many realizations then we die
but many all ponder and wonder: why
